At Rockit Press, you can avoid the challenges of securing an agent to shop your book to one of the few major publishing houses by going directly with a boutique publisher like us. It is quite rare for a first time author to attract the attention of the larger publishing houses. Even if you are one of the fortunate few to get an agent and major publisher on board, this process could still take years, and you often surrender control of your book.
On the other hand, some people choose the route of self publishing, where they pay to print and distribute their books on their own. Navigating those waters can be challenging, however, and one of many issues these authors face is not being able to get their books into brick and mortar book stores. Sometimes even getting paid can be a problem.
Rockit Press may be your answer. We are a boutique publishing house that combines attributes of both traditional publishing and self publishing, giving you the best of both worlds. Rockit Press offers a menu of services from which you can pick and choose to individualize your experience. Please see our Book Publishing Price Menu for pricing information.
Once we help you finish and format your book, we make it possible to share it with the world. With Rockit Press, your book will be available through its distributors for purchase by over 39,000 global booksellers around the world including the big chains, the smaller chains, independent bookstores, local niche retailers, online stores, e-book retailers, libraries, schools, universities and just about anywhere that sells books in any format. That's a lot of places.

WHO RETAINS THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND COPYRIGHT OF MY BOOK?
You. At Rockit Press, the intellectual property and copyright of the books are retained by the author(s).

No. We will provide you with unique ISBNs, which are required for wholesale and retail sales.
WHAT ABOUT A COPYRIGHT CERTIFICATE?
Again, we will file for copyright and provide you with a copyright certificate. The copyright will be held in the author(s) name(s).
IS THERE ANY GUARANTEE THAT MY BOOK WILL SELL?
No, there is not any guarantee that any book will sell; however, Rockit Press will make the book available to over 39,000 global booksellers through our distributors. Social media, press and other ways to bring the book to the public's attention are extra services that we can offer which may help in selling the book.
WHAT IS THE AUTHOR'S SHARE OF ROYALTIES?
We have a generous royalty program where we split all monies received from all of our distribution sources 70/30 in the author's favor (i.e., 70% goes to the author and 30% to Rockit Press). Traditional book publishers typically pay a significantly lower percentage on profits.
WHO SETS THE SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE OF THE BOOK?
Rockit Press and the author jointly determine the Suggested Retail Price of the book. In pricing the book, we take into account the printing cost and any discounts off of the Suggested Retail Price that are required by the booksellers and wholesalers. It is therefore important to price the book so that the amount we receive per book covers expenses, and provides a profit margin.
